Can’t wait to book next year
Location aside, this event was ace.
Very well organised.
Great communication.
Great race HQ.
As for the location Kielder water at night was out of this world!
If you want to do a night time trail run do this one!

Good race but it's not a trail race
Only 2 items detract from what was a great event.
- it's a trail race in name only - it's a well laid ash path with very good even surface and some lengths big tarmac. There is no challenge or interest to be had in that aspect of the run.
- there were several tur offs that would have been better served with a marshall or waist high tape. The small flashes of apparently luminous material on ground level spikes did not work at all.

Fantastic run in the dark skies of Kielder
This was my first time running at the event - I really enjoyed the atmosphere, and running with others along the trails at Kielder was lovely. The night was cool but very clear with beautiful stars. Liked the heated teepee too for gathering before the start. Probably needed a few more toilets, and what about offering a warm / cool drink for free at the end of the run - I didn't really feel like having liquids halfway through the run, but at the end I would have loved a free drink for my efforts at running 11 miles!

Great atmosphere.
A couple of extra marshals at key points would be good, especially where this a sharp right turn off the road onto the track @ 16kms would be great.

My first Dark Skies event and overall it was great.
The route was great and the skies clear which was a great bonus! I was disappointed that there was no free hot drink or food at the end, particularly as I finished pretty shattered and started shivering quickly, even with a down jacket on! Fortunately my wife had some cash and was able to get me a hot soup which really helped. A couple of extra quid for a hot drink/soup and a piece of flapjack would have been well worth it! Otherwise, thanks for a great race.
Fantastic races in a beautiful place with a great community
Amazing trails, scenery, atmosphere. Well organised, but very relaxed and social- its more about enjoying the running with a great bunch of people than taking it too seriously. Organisation is great. Seems accessible to new runners and all abilities. Highly recommended- these events and their others.

A great race
This was a great friendly event.
I think signage to & from the car park could be improved.
Why is the event described as 26.6miles when it is clearly 27.6miles. Surely this event should be described as an ultra not a marathon

One of my favourite runs
Second time I’ve done this run and it’s definitely a favourite of mine. Well organised and a lovely route. The stars this year were amazing! The tuck shop at the end is a great and affordable treat. It was so cold at the end the soup was perfect!

Beautiful and interesting trail run with a great atmosphere
This was my first trail run since having kids and I was so pleased with how welcoming it was for a sort of beginner and how beautiful and varied the route was. The marshalls and organisers were friendly and supportive too.
There is room for improvement in the signage to reach registration from the car park and also on the route. The check point was meant to be at 5km but was actually around 8km. But I’ll be back regardless!

Enjoyable night
It'd be good if there were some vegan/dairy free food options at the finish line. But I nabbed a banana from the last checkpoint to eat later and I always have something I can eat in my car just incase so not a problem.

Excellent experience
Tim could have a trim !!

Great event
Some signage was too small and low down and had to stop and go back to check directions and water station could have been before the 5 mile mark but otherwise great event

Exciting
This was a really fun experience for my first trail run. It was quite difficult but that’s all in the fun of it pushing yourself further and achieving more! The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere with all the runners were amazing. The only criticism I have is that it was not very well signposted around kielder. It said there would be Marshalls for the carpark and there wasn’t and we went the wrong way twice and had no idea how to get down to the waterfront. But we managed to find it and along the route was very easy to follow! Will be doing it again next year!

Really nice course, not muddy at all, great for beginners and experienced trail runners
Could have done with some signage in the tent at the end so we knew where to exit, rather than being shouted at by the staff! Also some signage back to the carpark would help.
