Excellent
Don't underestimate especially in hot weather. Very enjoyable and excellent scenery.
Enjoyable race, a few things could be improved
Good points:
- Marshalls were all great
- Plenty of parking and toilets at the start
- Scenic route
- Overall a good race
Some notes for improvement:
- I've done this race twice now and both years there were problems with people going off route. Time penalties had to be estimated to prevent people from winning awards when they've accidentally cut the route short. Most of the route is well enough signed, but it only takes one wrong turn. I think it needs emphasising pre-run that signs can't be relied on for navigation, particularly for the benefit of less experienced trail runners.
- Something to eat at the end would have been appreciated
- I spent 45 minutes sat on the shuttle bus waiting for it to fill up and set off. Had I known, I would have gone to the cafe to wait. Advertised set-off times would be preferred.

Loved it
Was hoping this event would bring back my running mojo, it did not disappoint, loved the route, marshalls were awesome, as usual, found it very tough but I finished and will deffo do it again

It was gorgeous route very beautiful but challenging. Need to be confident can run 10 mile on challenging terrain before entering.
The end came quicker that I expected - about half mile short?

Undulating and scenic

Beautiful route, well organised trail race
Another cracking Durham Coastal half. The only thing I would suggest is to add an additional water station when it’s hot like today.
Jennifer Wealleans
As always, a well organised event with friendly and helpful volunteers. Looking forward to my next Trail Outlaws adventure.
This is my second year of taking part in this event. Fingers crossed I'm back next year.

Challanging!

Lydia Boase
Beautiful route. Very friendly and relaxed. Really enjoyed it. Maybe prompt people to carry water or set up extra water station as hot and windy today

Great Route around lesser known durham trails
It does have hills, that the fun. The GPX was a little out, once small loop was reversed, but signage was clear
Paul Samat
Well organised, friendly event and a great route!

Excellent race with beautiful scenery
This is an excellent race and the work done to put it together is also admirable. However, the lack of refreshments at the end of the race is disappointing. I went to get water and could barely get any out of the dispenser. Given the money paid and compared to other races of a similar distance, a few recovery refreshments would be appreciated.

Absolutely fabulous...but hard and VERY hot!!!
Jennie Hayes
Brilliant race, well organised and marshalls very supportive
The bottle neck in the woods with runners coming back from a loop meant some of front runners were impatient and just plowed through leaving us slower runners pushed into the bushes and could have caused injury.
Paul Hargreaves
Enjoyed beautiful run in Durham sunshine

Lovely course around woodlands of the River Wear
This is my favourite of the Urban Trails series. Takes in fabulous undulating trails along the Wear woodlands. The hills in the the last 5k always make it that bit more challenging
Ken Kidger
Good event really enjoyed it. Could do with extra couple marshals.

A great introduction to trail running!
I did the 5k which was great for beginners to trail running. It was well signposted and the marshalls were great. The scenery was beautiful and I hope to take on the 10 miler next year!
